First Snow!
Today we had our first notable snow. Actually, at the end of October we had our first snow, but it was only a few snowflakes here and there. Today we had a few real flurries, but nothing that would stick. I took Sweet Pea to the window to look at it, and she seemed interested, but then she’s always interested when she looks out the window.
We had quite an eventful weekend. My mother-in-law got some tickets to a football game from her work and invited me and my husband and S.P. to go with her. I’d never been to a football game before and I’m not a fan, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. S.P. did not like it. I think it was a combination of her being too cold and the game being too crowded and noisy. I spent most of the game walking around with her, which was fine with me because I couldn’t figure out what was happening anyway. But part of the problem was my mother in law. She is a very sweet woman and has been so kind and thoughtful to me over the years, but she seems to think that the days we see her she or her husband should hold S.P. all day. I’m not one of these moms who don’t want anybody else to hold their baby, but S.P. needs cuddle time with me every hour or two or else she loses it.
So at the football game my mother in law kept fussing with S.P., adjusting her hat and shielding her face. I think part of S.P.’s frustration was that she just wanted to be left alone. It’s hard letting my mother in law know that sometimes less is more without hurting her feelings. Oh well, it should get better as S.P. gets older and gradually becomes less dependent on me.
